Gender marketing

After reading an article by Travis Heermann about the gender differences in marketing approach I found it interesting that there were 4 main differences. I think that these are somewhat of generalities, but I definitely do think that men and women respond differently to advertisements, so markets should take different approaches when trying to appeal to a certain gender.  
 
1. Trust- This was the first difference. Women are more likely to trust people over men. Also women are more likely to trust the government more than men.
2. Language- Studies show that language differs between men and women. Women are more softer in their writing and respond positively towards polite language. While men like language that is more short and to the point.
3. Lifestyle- Marketers want to know family status and employment status when marketing something that appeals to women. They want to know if they have children, or if they work full time, because women who work will have different opinions than stay at home moms. While studies show that men are opposite. Family status and career hardly matter, while age, income and education do.
4. Decision Making- Men mostly are making decisions for themselves. While usually women are not only making decisions for themselves but for their kids, spouse, and sometimes parents. So women are making the majority of the decisions and have more control over family finances then the older days.
