In response to Christine’s post…

Do you think that this type of advertisement will be successful?  Do you think the company will lose more money on this advertisement than gain money? Do you think they should place hugging vending machines for Coca-Cola in the United States?

I think that there are both pros and cons to this new marketing strategy that Coca-Cola came up with. Having a vending machine that when you hug it gives you a free Coca-Cola is a great way to get their product out there. If something is free customers will not hesitate to take it. By doing this Coca-Cola is getting their product out there. However this might make them lose some money. There are many customers that would spend money on buying Coca-Cola, but with something being free the customer will most likely take the free hug and get a coke then actually spending the money. If Coca-Cola wanted to try to put the hugging vending machine in the united state, I would say to try it out for a little and if you are getting some results and it is actually increasing sales then it would be a good idea to keep it going. However I think that most people will just take advantage of the free soda and not pay to go buy more.

7 words that make people buy

1. Fast- Today people usually value our time more than our money, so we want fast results, fast delivery.
2. Guaranteed- People want to make sure that they are not wasting their money.
3. Limited- People like to own things that they think are more valuable.
4. Easy- People want everything to be easy or simple.
5. Sale- People want to think they are getting it for less than it’s worth so that they are saving money.
6. Free- People always want something free. Maybe an incentive of some sort before they buy.
7. New- People always want new products of any sort.

These words can be very powerful for customers to see when trying to decide on what product they want to purchase. All these words can go hand in hand with one another and really is a game changer for the marketing world. Just by using one of these 7 words markets can get products off the shelves and into people’s homes. All of these words are a great way to market and advertise but which word do you think works the best and why?
