In response to Kristen’s Post…

Have you noticed these new types of advertising on Facebook? Would you be more likely to react to an advertisement and use a product or go to a place that you know your friends have been to?

I think that Facebook is definitely a great way to try to market since today, most likely no matter what age it seems everyone has a Facebook. So advertising on there is a good way to get your product at least seen by potential customers. However I don’t think most people actually look at the ads on the side. I know I don’t pay attention to what’s on the side. Most people go on Facebook to see if they have any notifications and to socialize with friends, or see what the new “status” is. Nevertheless I think that there is a possibility that an ad might catch a potential customer and from there word of mouth is very important. I think that if your friends or family use a product or go to a certain place like a restaurant, then that has a big effect on what we use. There are so many times that a family member or friend has told me about a new place to eat and I have to go see for myself. This also goes for products as well. If you see your friends with some new product, you of course want to try it out for yourself. Have you ever went to purchase something off an ad you saw on Facebook?
